Snow Queen – 2025

SNOWQUEEN

Riverside Players are proud to present their 2025 pantomime… The Snow Queen

Winter Is Coming! The Snow Queen wishes to rule over her sisters, Spring, Summer and Autumn. For this, she needs to end a true love but there are many obstacles in her way. Join Gerda as she travels through the seasons to save her one true love Kai. Full of larger than life characters, silly comedy and show stopping song and dance numbers!

We are now recruiting our cast for this fantastically fun show.

Readthrough and Welcome chat – Sunday 15th September 2024 @ 5pm

On the 15th September , we will be hosting a read through and welcome chat at the Scout Hut on Priory Lane. You’ll get to chance to get a full read of the script as well as meet the director along with Production team members: with a social meet in the 5 Bells to follow.

Open auditions – Sunday 22nd September 2024 @ 12pm

On the 22nd September we will be hosting open auditions for the show at the Eynsford Village Hall. All members and non-members are welcome: we especially love meeting new people of all ages and abilities. If you would like to be involved in another capacity other than acting (costumes/props or even just running the bar) please turn up anyway and we’d love to say hello!

Upon arrival, you’ll be introduced to the Director, the play and all the members present: with plenty of opportunities for you to ask any questions.  We’ll also need to take your audition details on our intake form, which will include checking things for pre-planned holidays or absences. Please put on your audition form if you have any hidden dance skills, tap, etc. or other tricks, like juggling, we might be able to utilise.

Then our fabulous choreographer Debbie will run a movement & dance section for everyone auditioning. Don’t worry if you have two left feet – she just needs to see what you can do – and it’s a wonderful way to warm up for acting! Please come prepared to dance, clothes you can move freely in and suitable trainers or dance shoes.

The acting auditions will then commence in the main hall – if you need to be away early, please let the team know at the start so we can schedule your auditions first. Please be respectful of your fellow auditionees: give them laughter for the jokes and encouragement for their performances. The audition pieces are below: please note that learning off book ahead of time is not expected (though definitely encouraged if you really want the part).

The singing auditions will be held in a separate room in the building with the Musical team and recorded for later review: this is to both save time and reduce the pressure upon any nervous singers.

Whilst you are free to leave at the end of your auditions, we would encourage sticking around to watch your fellow thespians and give them your support. After all auditionees have been processed, we’ll have a “full debrief session” in the 5 Bells afterwards.

The casting announcement should be delivered within a week, and from then it’s on to rehearsals!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Best,

The Snow Queen Team!
